Surrey is a county in the South East of England and is one of the Home Counties. The county borders on to Greater London, Kent, East Sussex, West Sussex, Hampshire and Berkshire. Surrey County Council is based in Kingston upon Thames.
Surrey has 11 boroughs and districts: Elmbridge, Epsom and Ewell, Guildford, Mole Valley, Reigate and Banstead, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Surrey Heath, Tandridge, Waverley, Woking. Since the elections of May 1st 2008, the Conservatives are controlling 10 out of 11 councils in, with Epsom and Ewell in Residents Association control. The Conservatives hold all 11 Parliamentary constituencies within the county borders.
It is a large county, different in so many ways, from the rolling hills and suburban communities to the new build popping up in town centres. Surrey is carpeted with beautiful countryside and inland waterways, all just a stone's throw from London, it offers a wealth of world-class attractions, contemporary arts venues, unique events, mouth-watering restaurants, cafes and pubs.
